Chess

Q.) Is Chess haram in Islam. What is the A'yat in Qur'an for this as I have to show it to somebody to convince. [Tariq Sayeed]

A.) According to the Hanafi Madhab, chess is prohibited. Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam said, 'Whosoever plays chess, it is like soiling his hands in the blood of swine.' And Allah Ta'ala Knows Best
