Q.) The Government of Barbados has invited the Muslim Community to participate in a Program to mark the country's independence. The Prime-Minister would like a reading from the Holy Qur'an at this program. Other religions would be present. Can a Muslim attend this function? [Suleiman]

A.) Celebration of country's independence is not a religious function, therefore, a Muslim can attend it, and there is no harm in reciting from the Holy Qur'an on this occasion.
