Sadaqutul Fitr Paid by Father

| Q.) I am 32 yrs married with one son. Every year my father pays Sadqa-tul-fitr on Eid day on behalf of myself, my wife and my son. Is this okay?. Someone told me that I should pay from my own pocket because I am earning. Could you please clarify? |
A.) It is true that you should pay the Fitra yourself. However, if you requested your father to pay the Fitrah or your father informed you that he will pay the Fitrah and you consented, then that is sufficient.
